ChuSchool Refund Policy
Version: v1.3
Last updated: 2026-11-06 · Effective date: 2026-11-07
This English text is the governing version; translations are provided for convenience (see Terms of Service, section 14).
This policy applies to textbook PDFs and memberships bought on chuschool.com from Clavis Sinica Limited. It does not affect your statutory rights, that is, the rights consumer law gives you where you live, which cannot be excluded.
1. You have not downloaded the book
If you have not downloaded a book, you can cancel and get a full refund within 14 days of buying it. A book counts as downloaded once our server has delivered a file of that book to you. This does not affect your statutory rights.
2. The file is faulty
If a file is faulty (for example it does not open, or pages are missing), tell us within 7 days of buying it. We will replace it or give you a full refund. This does not affect your statutory rights.
3. You bought the same book twice
We refund the second order. This does not affect your statutory rights.
4. You have downloaded the book and the file works
A book that you have downloaded and that works is normally not refundable. We may still consider exceptional cases. This does not affect your statutory rights.
5. Consumers in the EU or UK
At checkout you asked us to start delivery immediately and confirmed: “I accept that I lose my right to cancel once I start downloading; if I have not downloaded the book, I can still cancel within 14 days.” (section 1). This does not affect your statutory rights.
6. How to ask for a refund
Reply to your order confirmation email, or write to support@chuschool.com, and include your order number (it looks like CS-2026-000123). We reply within 5 working days. Approved refunds go back to the card or other payment method you used, through Stripe; when the money reaches you depends on your bank.
7. After a refund
The book is removed from My textbooks and can no longer be downloaded.
8. Disputed payments
If you dispute a payment with your bank, downloads of the book concerned are paused while the dispute is open. Please contact us first; we can usually sort things out faster. This does not affect your statutory rights.
9. Membership
Sections 1 to 8 are about textbook PDFs. For memberships (Terms of Service, section 4A):
- First payment. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first membership payment. When we refund it, the membership ends straight away.
- Renewals. Renewal payments are normally not refundable, but you can cancel at any time in Manage membership so that the membership does not renew again; you keep it until the end of the period you have paid for. If you were charged after you had cancelled, or because of our mistake, we refund that payment.
- Consumers in the EU or UK. Your legal right to withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days is covered by the 14-day full refund above.
- How to ask. Write to support@chuschool.com with your order number (it is in the membership confirmation email). We reply within 5 working days; refunds go back through Stripe.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
